We've lived here for one year and I still haven't met any neighbors with children yet, so I am eager to meet you and your son! If you’re looking to meet other nearby mothers, our LLL Group meetings are also nice places to meet other nearby mothers. You don’t have to have a breastfeeding problem or anything — you can just come meet people. No guarantees they’re right down the street, but at least vaguely nearby.

It definitely seemed that the show planners were trying to support breastfeeding in public and I was pleased that they mentioned that fear of nursing in public is a real hurdle for many breastfeeding mothers and can lead to early weaning. And I was also pleased that there were people who stepped up to support all the all the nursing mothers. On the other hand, if you're a mother who's nervous about breastfeeding in public, I'm not sure convinced that watching this video is going to reduce your anxiety. There are more-effective strategies for reducing your fear of nursing in public, such as practicing nursing in front of a mirror before you try it in public, and trying out nursing in public at a La Leche League meeting (where you know you'll be accepted). And I was hoping they would provide some information about how minimally alcohol enters the breastmilk. But all in all, I thought it was a well-intentioned effort to document people's reactions to breastfeeding, in combination with race and age.
